About the RFDS
What is the RFDS?
The Royal Flying Doctor Service is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world.
We go above and beyond every day to provide extensive primary health care and a 24-hour emergency service for people that live, work and travel in rural and remote Australia.
The RFDS relies on donations and support from people like you to keep us flying and saving lives on a daily basis.
Why we need your help
At the RFDS, we need a wide range of the latest medical equipment to continue providing the best aeromedical service in the world. Your support for Cloud Climb will help us buy vital:
- Foetal heart monitors
- Portable defibrillators (Heart Start machines)
The Flying Doctor helps someone every 2 minutes of every day – through RFDS clinics, aeromedical transports and telehealth consultations.
Our fleet of 68 aircraft flew 26,157,502 kilometres in 2016. That’s the equivalent of 34 trips to the moon and back, or more than 600 flights around the Earth.
